Common name
Bird’s nest fern
Growing conditions
Can be susceptible to scale and aphids, plus fungal problems if soil too wet but one of the easiest ferns to look after. Wipe leaves to remove dust. Feed with diluted feed during spring and summer only 2-3 times a year. Doesn’t need potting up really as naturally epiphytic and root mass doesn’t grow large enough.
Watering
Keep moist but don’t overwater, requires regular misting. Water base of plant.
Aspect
Shade to bright but sunless (canopy fern)
Temperature
